Women in Construction Week: CWC and Colliers Women's Groups

Coakley & Williams Construction Women's group | Women in construction week

“Partnering with Colliers, a worldwide real estate services company, women's group was a wonderful experience. Both companies recognized the significance of providing a platform for our female members to gather, share information, and ask questions. The exchange between the topic specialists was insightful and powerful.“ -Sherry Kissal

Coakley & Williams Construction and Colliers Women’s Groups

Founded by Partner & Executive Director of Strategy & Acquisition, Sherry Kissal, in 2017, the CWC Women's Group is an employee resource group focused on professional growth, networking, and service to the community. For the past three years, Alex Schwartz, Preconstruction Manager, has led the monthly activities to meet those goals, including an Earth Day clean up and tree planting at the new St. Elizabeths Campus Men’s Shelter in Washington DC and snack packing for Nourish Now, a nonprofit food bank working to end hunger. In 2023, Bridgett Redding, Project Engineer, became co-chair of the CWC Women’s Group, and together with Sherry and Alex, they hosted the Colliers Women's Group for a networking event. The CWC women explained their roles in the construction process and Colliers women talked about their roles in commercial real estate.

I’ve really love creating a space for women to share their successes or struggles with women coworkers. At CWC we have 30 women and 120 men employees. Although much progress has been made, we are still in a male-dominated industry. The CWC Women’s Group allows us to learn from each other and make even more progress.
— Alex Schwartz, Preconstruction Manager
